For businesses who want to expand their sales worldwide, Shopify is probably the best platform to do it. Shopify is a company based in Ottawa, Canada, that enables companies to create easily sophisticated online stores. Shopify is already used in 500,000 online stores in 175 countries, which make it the biggest E-commerce building platform in the world. In Japan, it is still relatively unknown, but it is growing quickly. We decided to use Shopify for our own group’s brands, but also for our clients wishing to expand their sales outside Japan. As we work a lot with social networks, especially Facebook and Instagram, Shopify was the right choice because of its integration with social networks.
Nowadays, it is not only about creating an online store. It is also about promoting this store on social media (Facebook, Instagram…), selling on online marketplaces (eBay, Amazon…) as well as in physical stores. It is indeed necessary to be able to develop and manage multiple sales channels, and it is quite challenging!
Facebook Shop section and Shopify
By updating images or stock quantity of products on Shopify, information will be automatically updated on the shop section of your Facebook page. It has then never been so easy to sell products directly on a Facebook page.
You can see below an example of Hydron Japan’s Facebook page, our group’s contact lenses company. We opened a Shopify online store to sell these contact lenses in Japan, we connected the store with this Facebook page, and all the products appear in the shop section of the Facebook page. By clicking on a product, you just have to confirm the details and click on the check out button, then you will be redirected to the online store checkout page. Fast and easy!
Using Messenger from purchase step to delivery tracking
On Facebook’s Messenger, if your page is connected to your online store, you can display all your collections of products in the conversation, and you can then buy products from Messenger. After you ordered, there is also a delivery tracking service that can be checked in Messenger. Customers can then know easily at any time where their package is.
